Chijioke Osuji; Winner of Nigerian Community Excellence Awards 2018’s Best Nigerian Achievement in Sport.

"The award was awesome and I had a prestigious feeling about the award" Chijioke Osuji.

Chijioke Osuji is a South-Africa based Nigerian professional Table Tennis player and coach. He is ranked number one Table Tennis player in the whole of Gauteng. Chijioke was the winner of the Best Nigerian Achievement in Sport Award at the 2018 edition of Nigeria Community Excellence Awards organized by The Nigerian Voice Newspaper, South Africa.

On his experience of the award, Chijioke expressed his delight in meeting other great Nigerians in a formal atmosphere during the award event. "It was a very good, matured, decent event and a showcase where Nigerians meet other Nigerians in a formal atmosphere and getting to know who-is-who. Many of us never knew who the Nigerian Ambassador was but that platform gave us the opportunity to know and meet him," the sport personality revealed.

Chijioke has played in several semi Finals championships and won three times doubles in South Africa. He has also won several trophies in the South African National Table Tennis Championships.  He has also won the Gauteng Tennis League 11 years on straight.

As a Player-Coach, he has led the South-African based Jewish team to Israel for Table Tennis Championship. Chijioke has also led the South-African based Vietnamese table tennis team to Spain and America for successful Table Tennis Championship campaigns. Chijioke played in the Nigerian PRO TOUR which was held in Lagos in 2018.  

A man of very few words, the sport award winner says he will love to see positive changes in the lives of many Nigerians in South Africa. “I would love to see changes in the lives of Nigerians in South Africa, positive changes. We are all not doing bad but remember people in this part of Africa feel and say we are all doing bad. The good deeds of Nigerians in South Africa must come to light in order to change the perspectives of people about Nigerians".

The table tennis star says his long time fulfilling dream is to be a global phenomenon in the world table tennis fraternity.
